Friday, November 20, 2020 from 1:30 - 4:30 PM 3.0 General CEUs The holidays can be stressful and this timely workshop will show you how to help clients better navigate holiday stressors, while also providing them with empowering tools to manage dominating behaviors from spouses, children, parents, colleagues, and more. The efficacy of these strategies will be explained by comparing the neurochemical effects that drive RAGE and FEAR versus CARING, SEEKING and PLAYFUL emotions. An easy protocol will be demonstrated that employs convenient technology to teach clients these strategies. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Distinguish fight-flight (attack-defend-withdraw) reactions from rest-restore (accessible, responsive, engaged) responses so clients can recognize interaction patterns they are currently using or want to employ in their relationships. 2. Formulate empowering responses that clients can use to Affirm, Ask questions, Actively listen, or embed Hints and Humor (AAAH) to disarm hostile remarks from family or the community at large. 3. Identify the neurochemicals that drive RAGE, FEAR, and PANIC reactions versus SEEKING, CARING, and PLAYFUL responses in order to explain the effectiveness of empowering responses.
