Description

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of human flourishing. It is also called the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive. The field is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play.

The VIA Institute of Character states, "“Why VIA (Values in Action)? Many personality tests assess psychopathology or neutral characteristics. This is one of the few that assesses what is positive in people.

"Traditionally, most of the focus has been on working with clients to move from ‘surviving to striving’. Positive Psychology shifts the focus on working with clients to move to the higher level of ‘thriving’.
