As a service to mental health professionals, SMHCA is providing a FREE 1-hour webinar for all mental health professionals in the Tampa Bay Area who are interested in collaborating to share COVID-19-related resources and strategies.

The COVID-9 pandemic has raised multiple issues and concerns for clinical mental health counselors (CMHCs) and other mental health professionals, such as:

1. Should I keep seeing clients in my office?

2. What precautions can I take to reduce exposure?

3. How do I get set up for telehealth?

4. Do telehealth sessions count towards therapy hours for registered interns?

5. Can qualified supervisors conduct supervision sessions through webcam?

6. How do I treat clients with OCD and anxiety during a pandemic?

7. How do I balance reasonable precautions on one hand and encourage a sense of hope and security on the other?

This webinar will be collaborative, casual, and hopeful, with time for attendees to ask questions and interact.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Articulate reasonable precautions to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Review current changes in board rules and laws affecting counselors, interns, and telehealth.
  3. List several resources for continued COVID-19 updates for mental health professionals.        ___________________________
