Goal – Actively promote SMHCA and FMHCA membership (per by-laws)

Grow and support the membership and assist in maintaining an adequate balance in the association’s account. This committee will be responsible for actively recruiting for all Board positions for the entire year. The committee will gather information from each interested new member and pass it along to the Nominations Committee so there will always be a pool of interested members to fill vacant positions in a timely and efficient manner.

Monthly

The membership committee chair will provide a monthly written report and present it during monthly board meetings. The report shall consist of membership numbers and activities to grow and maintain membership.

Periodically

Keep the membership webpage and list of benefits up to date, explore adding membership benefits and revisit membership pricing.

 Spring Symposium Timeline 

Membership Committee will include the 

Counselor Educator Representative, the Registered Intern Representative, the Graduate Student Representative, and other members as appointed by the Chair and/or the President.

- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to committee members.

6. Budget and Finance:

- Manage the budget for membership-related activities and initiatives.

- Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective use of resources.

7. Collaboration:

- Work with other committees and departments within the association to align membership goals with overall organizational objectives.

- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote membership.

8. Strategic Planning:

- Participate in the association’s strategic planning process.

- Develop long-term plans for membership growth and sustainability.
